Product switch only

Product switch only

You can complete a product switch for your client on our switch portal if:

  • Your client has a standard residential mortgage account.
  • There are no more than two applicants.
  • Their current deal will end in the next four months.
  • Their mortgage is currently on our Standard Variable Rate.
  • They’re not changing their current term or applying for additional borrowing.
  • One element (sub account) is held.
  • They pay their mortgage by Direct Debit.

If your client doesn’t meet the above criteria, but would still like to process a product switch, you’ll need to complete our illustration request form. This includes if your client(s) have an assisted mortgage, shared ownership, Help to Buy mortgage or if they've made a change under the Mortgage Charter.

Your steps to a product switch

Step one

Log into our business portal and select the ‘Product Switch’ tab. There you’ll need to enter the following information for your client:

  • Mortgage account number (this is the 901 number that will be on your client’s annual mortgage statement).
  • Postcode of the mortgaged property.
  • Surname.
  • Date of birth.
  • Bank sort code (where their monthly payment is made from).
  • Last four digits of their account number (where their monthly payment is made from).

Next, select the ‘Applicant(s) authority declaration’ to confirm you have your client’s permission to continue.

Step two

Select the account that is maturing and review the options available. You can then select the product(s) your client would like to receive an offer for.

Step three

After selecting the product, the offer will be generated. Here you'll need to download and save a copy to keep and so you can give a copy to your client.

Step four

When they’re ready to proceed, read and accept the ‘Offer acceptance declaration’ and click submit. The switch will take place on the first of the month after the end of their current deal. We’ll email you to confirm that the switch has happened and your client will also receive a letter to confirm this.
