Porting

Is your client looking to move to another property and take their current mortgage deal with them?

With our new porting service, your client can move to a new property and take their existing mortgage product with them. Plus, if your client needs to borrow more or reduce their loan, you can do that too.

How to port your client’s mortgage

We’ve developed five steps to help you on your way.

Before you go through these steps, please ensure that your client is eligible to use this process. Whilst we would like to make this available to as many West Brom borrowers as possible, there is currently one scenario that will not be eligible.

  • Transfer of Equity is also required during the porting process

This doesn't mean that we can’t help an existing West Brom borrower port their product, it just means they will need to contact us to go through our existing borrower process.

Things you’ll need to know before completing our porting form.

  • Your clients mortgage account number
  • The sort code and last four digits of the bank/building society account number your clients mortgage is paid from
  • Establish whether this is a straightforward port or whether the client needs to change their mortgage loan size i.e. borrow more or reduce their loan

Please note: Where additional funds are required and a product is selected from our switcher range, a £99 fee is applicable.

5 steps to porting

Step 1: Go to our Porting Illustration request form and complete the fields ensuring you have the applicant(s) personal information (including the mortgage account number and the sort code and last four digits of their bank/building society account number the mortgage is paid from) and property details.

Please note: if the port requires additional borrowing, please select a product from our switcher range if the amount is less than £40k. If its greater than £40k, you can select from our purchase range or switcher range.

Step 2: When we have completed our necessary checks, we will produce an Illustration and send this to you by email.

Step 3: If your client(s) is happy to proceed with the port, simply complete our Porting application form and return it to us at Processing.Team@westbrom.co.uk by secure email.

Important information when submitting your client's application, you'll need to send:

Step 4: When we’ve received your completed application form, along with any supporting documentation, we’ll complete our standard checks and confirm we’re able to progress with the application.
